Mutual Aid Coordination Team
The FIRESCOPE Mutual Aid Coordination Team (MACT) is comprised of Mutual Aid subject matter experts and is assembled by the FIRESCOPE Board of Directors (BOD). The team includes Mutual Aid Region Coordinators and Cal OES Fire & Rescue Deputy and Assistant Chiefs representing all regions within California. The team's primary mission is to evaluate the status of the Mutual Aid System, identify opportunities for improvement, and propose solutions that align with the BOD's vision of enhancing participation and improving the system.
The MACT's responsibilities include developing a comprehensive "Plan of Work" and collaborating with the California Fire Service Senior Leadership and Operational Responders to stay informed on issues affecting the system's performance. The team is tasked with reporting its progress, findings, and recommendations to the FIRESCOPE BOD, while maintaining collaboration with affected FIRESCOPE Subcommittees, the Task Force, and/or the Operations Team.
Through its efforts, the MACT not only maintains but also continually seeks to improve the standards and operations of the California Fire and Rescue Mutual Aid System. This ongoing work is crucial for ensuring that local, state, and federal agencies can respond effectively to emergencies, thereby safeguarding communities across California.
