Captain Molloy was appointed to the CALFIRE in February 2005 and has served the citizens of Riverside County in multiple city/county contracts. He has held the ranks of a Firefighter/Paramedic, Fire Apparatus Engineer/Paramedic and promoted to Fire Captain in March 2016.
Captain Molloy graduated high school in Massachusetts in 1992, joined the US Navy and was honorably discharged after 4 years or service. Captain Molloy started training in 1997 as a part-time paid firefighter in the Lake Tahoe region and obtained his California Paramedic license in 2002. He is currently working to obtain his bachelor's degree in Psychology with a specialty in crisis response. Captain Molloy also currently holds a position on the Public Safety Peer Support Association's (PSPSA) fire board.
Captain Molloy is currently the Peer Support/CISM lead for the CALFIRE Riverside County team. He holds multiple basic and advanced ICISF and IAFF behavioral operational certifications and has been utilized as both a CISM and a CISL on multiple occasions since 2013. Notably, he has been utilized as a CISM for the Santa Rosa Complex (2017), a CISL for the Montecito Mud Slide (2018) and also a CISL for the Woolsey Fire in Ventura/Los Angeles County in November 2018.
In August of 2019, Captain Molloy was selected by Santa Barbara County Battalion Chief Garrett Huff to replace retired CALFIRE Battalion Chief Steve Diaz to serve on the FIRESCOPE Behavioral Health Working Group.
​During his time away from work, Kevin enjoys spending time with his wife Kristin and his two children Georgia and Ryan, enjoying all that Southern California has to offer.
