Chief Littlefield has served the Department of Interior and US Forest Service fire programs on engines, helicopters, crews, and in dispatch. Chief Littlefield has held the ranks of Captain, Battalion Chief, Division Chief and promoted to South Ops Coordination Center Manager in August 2024.</p><p style="text-align:justify;">Chief Littlefield attended Northern Arizona University and University of Nevada Reno. She holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Education with special certifications in Rangeland Management. She is a three-time recipient of the BLM State Directors awards (Nevada and California) for her contributions to Fire and Law Enforcement Incident Communication. She is also a recipient of the Cal Fire Director's Award for superior performance and outstanding contributions in a cooperative partnership with CAL FIRE.</p><p style="text-align:justify;">Chief Littlefield serves on the National Coordination Systems Committee (NCSC), the National Interagency Computer Aided Dispatch Committee (NICAD), and the National Coordinating Group Advisory Council (CGAC).</p><p style="text-align:justify;">During her time away from work, Chief Littlefield enjoys spending time with her family and friends skiing/snowboarding, riding dirt bikes, and coaching youth softball. Chief May has held the ranks of Firefighter/Paramedic, Paramedic Supervisor, Apparatus Operator, Fire Lieutenant, Fire Captain, and Assistant Chief of Special Operations. He currently holds the rank of Deputy Fire Chief. Before joining the Berkeley Fire Department, Chief May had a successful career in EMS with several private ambulance providers. He held the positions of an EMT, Paramedic, Paramedic Supervisor, Quality Assurance Coordinator before becoming a Director of Operations.<br></div><div>Chief May grew up in Arizona before attending high school at Newbury Park Academy in Southern California. Chief May holds a Bachelor of Arts in Broadcast Journalism from San Francisco State and a second Bachelor of Arts in Fire and Emergency Management from Purdue Global University. During his tenure at the Berkeley Fire Department, Chief May has received the Hero’s Day Award in 2001 for valiant efforts during a two-alarm fire rescue. In 2023, he also received an Innovation Award in recognition for his outstanding leadership of technology transformation.</div><div>Chief May has deployed on numerous wildland Strike Teams and is a graduate of the National Emergency Management Advanced Academy. He currently oversees the Special Operations Branch with the Berkeley Fire Department which includes; Fire Prevention Division, Wildland-Urban Interface Division, Office of Emergency Services Division, Public Information Office, and is the Communication Center Liaison. Chief May has managed the Operations Section, Planning Section, Policy Group, and PIO Section in the Emergency Operations Center when activated.</div><div>This is the first opportunity to serve on a FIRESCOPE committee. This is a great honor to serve and work along such a gifted group of experts that are charged with providing recommendations and technical assistance to the Office of Emergency Services.</div><div>During his time away from work, Chief May enjoys spending time with his wife, two children, and all of his family and friends. Chief May enjoys playing golf, SCUBA diving, traveling and cooking.
