Date: May 15, 2006     Los Angeles County Fire Camp #2 – Pasadena

Both workshops will cover the same agenda.  Hours are 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.  There is no fee other than a nominal cost for lunch payable the day of the workshop.

Workshop description

These workshops are intended for Qualified, Active Communications Unit Leaders and Incident Communications Technicians based in California.  Special invitation to COML’s assigned to CDF Incident Command Teams or California Interagency Incident Management Teams.  Please RSVP at least 3 weeks ahead of the workshop you plan on attending (see below for details).

The agenda will include the NIFC FAST Train-the-Trainer initiative, hands-on training of NIRSC equipment including field programming of the newer radios in the Cache, training on narrowband vs. wideband technology, overview of COML requirements for frequency coordination on California State and federal incidents, and a roundtable of items that participants will decide upon.

NIFC CDO’s and Communications Coordinators (COMC’s) and CDF Frequency Coordinators will be in attendance at each meeting.

Who should attend ?

The FIRESCOPE Communications Specialist Group hopes that all active CDF, federal and local government COML’s and COMT’s based in California will be able to make it to one of the two workshops.

Note:  Due to space limitations and to keep the agenda focused, we respectfully ask those personnel that are not an active, qualified COML or COMT to not plan on attending these workshops.   However, if you are interested in the workshops, but are not qualified as a COML or COMT, the FIRESCOPE Communications Specialist Group is planning a California Incident Communications Training Workshop in early 2007 just for you!
